“Counselling guided me to find the answers I needed for myself”

Counselling Client, Improving Lives

Rosie Allen

Meet our Counsellors

Hi, I’m Rosie – an integrative therapist, combining the Person-Centred Approach with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Attachment Theory. I feel this combination of modalities helps me to offer my clients a multi-dimensional approach based on their individual needs.

At the core of my practice, I believe that I am simply a person, sat across from another person – and in accepting our humanness and all that comes with it, hope to be able to build a relationship of trust and understanding which can encourage a renewed understanding of ourselves and other people.

Paul Ainger

Hello, I’m Paul. I am a trained counsellor in the Person-Centred Approach. I have twenty plus years of rich and diverse experience of supporting clients within the voluntary sector.

I offer therapy with compassion and understanding to individuals who feel confused, lost, struggling to cope with the demands of life, manage their mental health or simply trying to make sense of themselves. If a problem matters to you - then it is important.

I work with clients to create a safe therapeutic space to facilitate greater self-exploration to raise self-awareness and understanding of the issues you may be struggling with.

Mariani Jasmin

Hi I'm Mariani, I’m currently a counsellor in training working towards a MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I truly believe that each person is unique and deserves a holistic approach to therapy.

As an integrative therapist, I blend the Person-Centered Approach, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Attachment Theory to tailor our sessions to your specific needs. Together, we can delve into the connections between your past and present experiences, helping us navigate through situations that may no longer feel empowering for you.

I bring a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to my work, creating a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

 Our Counselling Space Transformed

We have a newly-refurbished counselling space in our offices for our face-to-face counselling clients.

It is essential to have a welcome, calming space that you feel comfortable in when having a counselling session. We are proud to provide that.

Next Steps

Once we have received your referral form, one of our counsellors will be in touch to gather some more information and complete an assessment and counselling agreement. Together, you will arrange a suitable time for your first session. The sessions will run for 50 minutes, on a weekly or fortnightly basis. There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions, but your counsellor will complete a review after 6 sessions to talk about your progress made and how best to move forward with therapy.

We aim to be in touch when we receive your referral and for your counselling to start within two weeks. If you have any questions in this period, please call our office on 0115 9348411 or email info@improvinglivesnotts.org.uk.
